White House threatens to veto bills to change way EPA uses science to justify regulations

The White House and Republican-led Congress appear to be clashing again. The Obama Administration is threatening to veto a pair of Republican bills that would change "the way the Environmental Protection Agency uses science to justify regulations," Timothy Cama reports for The Hill.

One bill would require the EPA "to publicly release the details of any scientific research that it uses for regulations," Cama writes. "The second bill would reform the EPA’s Scientific Advisory Board, a panel of independent experts that make recommendations on science, regulations, standards and other subjects to the agency." White House officials said "the bills would prevent the EPA from protecting human health and the environment." (Read more)
