2015 Appalachian Studies Conference scheduled from March 27-29 in Johnson City, Tenn.

The 2015 Appalachian Studies Conference is scheduled from March 27-29 at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn. This year's theme, "Many Mountains, Many Musics," challenges participants "to view Appalachia from a fresh perspective and discover its emergence as a creative, dynamic force," says a news release. This year’s Keynote Speaker is Margo Miller, executive director of the Appalachian Community Fund. Cost is $150 for individuals and $100 for students by March 2.
